Marjorie W. Fenton of Hope Valley, RI went to join the Lord on April 8, 2017 at The Westerly Hospital surrounded by her loving daughters.
She was known by everyone as “Margie” born and raised in Hope Valley RI, the daughter of Charles and Virginia Wright. She served as the head of customer service at the Greene Plastics Corporation for many years until retiring in 1988. Margie was also an avid reader throughout her lifetime and was a great cook, best known for her meatballs and macaroni and cheese. Her passion for life made her a joy to be around. She possessed a heart of gold, made evident by her devotion to her family. Her smile was made of sunshine and her sense of humor caused her to be considered a character by many who knew her best. Margie’s radiant personality gave her instant likeability by those she touched. She was and always will be a joy to her family.
At several sectors during the course of Margie’s life she was called upon to be a caregiver to her parents, husband and daughter while they were coping with serious illnesses. Without hesitation she gave her precious time, her gentle strength, faith-filled wisdom and loving care. She was always there when needed to provide comfort, support and inspiration. Margie was intelligent, brave, selfless, thoughtful, kind and generous to a fault, possessing a capacity for love that kept her family going. Every day was made special by her unconditional love. Her absence will leave a void never to be filled.
Margie is survived by her daughter Lynn Cahoon of Hope Valley, daughter Carole and son-in-law Donald Wiitala of Charlestown, grandson Donald E. (Andrea) of Charlestown and granddaughter Kati L. Nally of Westerly. She is also survived by great-grandsons Benjamin and Dustin Wiitala, Nolan Nally and great-granddaughter Paige Nally. Also surviving her is a brother Forrest Wright and sister-in-law Judy of Maine, nephews Charlie Wright, Robert Wright, Clifton Woodmansee and Mark St. Marie and nieces, Frances Gilman, Sharon Wright, Dr. Jennifer Wright, Teri St. Marie and Ann Murray.
She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Virginia Wright, her husband of 32 years, Joseph L. Fenton, Jr., a brother C. Calvin Wright and sisters Jean St. Marie and Virginia W. Woodmansee and a nephew Forrest D. Wright.
A service will be held at 11am on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the First Baptist Church of Hope Valley. At Margie’s request, visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
