Winthrop “Cappy” A. Kenyon, Jr., 85, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 20, 2017. He was the husband of the late Alice Gloria (Pelcher) Kenyon. Born on September 24, 1931 in Hopkinton, RI, he was the son of the late Winthrop A. Sr., and Hattie J. (Gaudlap) Kenyon.
Cappy served his country proudly in the US Army. He went on to working as a bus driver for Galloway where so many people remember him from. His love for baseball was evident in the years spent as an umpire at the Dow Jones baseball fields. Most importantly, he loved his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the lights of his life. He was a strong man who was always there for everyone and will be so dearly missed by those who knew him.
He is survived by his daughters Linda Culotta and her husband Robert, Gloria Bratti and her husband Steven and Ethel Laplatney and her husband Mark; his grandchildren Billy, Brandie, Bobby, Jennifer, Sherri, Timmy and Shayne; his 11 great-grandchildren and his son-in-law William Bonniol. He was preceded in death by his daughter Susan L. Bonniol.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the S. R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St., Hope Valley for calling hours on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 from 10:00am to 12:00pm Noon. A service will follow the calling hours at the funeral home beginning at 12:00p.m. Noon. Burial will follow the service at Wood River Cemetery in Richmond.
