Edwin D. James, 72, of James Road, Bradford, RI died peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at his home.
Born in Westerly, RI on August 22, 1944 he was the son of the late Harold C. and Barbara I. (Barrie) James.
Ed was a Mechanic working at the former Connecticut Investment Casting, Spencer’s Campers and the former Butler Chevrolet. He was also a long time handyman and friend to the annual summer residents of Holly Tree Campground in Ashaway.
Ed will be sadly missed by his three children; Jennifer J. D’Angelo and her husband Giancarlo of East Lyme, CT, Edwin W. James of Hopkinton, RI, and Brad D. James and his wife Sue of Dover, FL. He was the loving grandfather of Tyler, Camden, Bailey, Brandon, Edwin, Jr., and Brad, Jr. He also leaves his brother, Barry James and his wife Ruth of Hopkinton, RI as well as two nieces and a nephew.
The James family would also like to give special thanks to Ed’s neighbors and friends Troy Larkin and Tabitha Pokladnik for the love and care shown to their father over the years.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017 at 11:00 AM at S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11. Burial will follow in Wood River Cemetery.
