Amey R. (Reynolds) Payne, 101 Kingstown, Rd of Richmond, RI died peacefully on Wednesday March 1, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late George William Payne.
Born in Richmond, RI on April 7, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lillian (Smith) Reynolds.
Amey was an active member of the former Hope Valley Homemakers, Thursday Quilters Club and the Richmond Senior Citizens. She also became an accomplished painter later in life while being a resident of Shady Acres Nursing Home in Exeter, RI.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter; Cynthia E. Potter of Hope Valley, RI. She was the loving grandmother of Karen Payne, Kenneth Payne and his wife Diane, Kevin Payne and his wife Michelle, Melissa Aprea and her husband Victor and Nathan Potter. She also leaves four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Allyn G. Payne and her sister, Lephe Smith.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday March 11, 2017 at the S. R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI. A calling hour will precede the service from 1-2. Burial will be in Wood River Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Exeter Animal Rescue League, 165 South County Trail Exeter, RI 02822 or the Hope Valley Ambulance Squad, P.O. Box 205 Hope Valley, RI.
