Tribute

William “Bill” Rayhill, Sr., 91, of West Kingston, passed away peacefully at the Kingston Center on Thursday, June 2. He was the husband of the late Norma June (Carpenter) Rayhill. Born in Warwick, RI, on November 9, 1930, he was the son of the late Millard and Emma (Straight) Rayhill.

Bill served his country proudly as a Sergeant in the Army during the Korean War. Following his time in the service, he raised his family alongside his loving wife June while working at Quonset Naval Base in RI. Outside of the office, he loved woodworking, country music, camping and spending time together as a family. He had a kind heart and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his 4 children Carol Bolton, William Rayhill Jr., David Rayhill, Robert Rayhill and their spouses; his 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to acknowledge and say thank you to the staff at the Kingston Center, especially Kelly, Les and Kristen who was Bill’s angel while there. We would also like to thank the staff at Anchor Bay at Greenwich, especially Darlene, who Bill enjoyed talking with.

Funeral services will be held privately by the family. S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St., Hope Valley, RI is assisting the family with arrangements.
