William T. Pixton

William T. Pixton, 95 of Carolina, RI died peacefully on Thursday May 3, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Lillian E. (Mitchell) Pixton.

Born in East Hampton, MA on August 22, 1922 he was the son of the late Ralph and Jessie (Taylor) Pixton

Mr. Pixton served his country proudly in the United States Army during World War II and received many decorations and citations.

Mr. Pixton was employed for over 30 years for the United States Postal service working in the Narragansett Post Office. 

Bill was active in many civic organization he was a longtime member and Volunteer for the Richmond- Carolina Fire Department, Past Commander of the VFW and the American Legion, Narragansett Sports Association, retirement chapter of APWU.  He was an active member and former sexton and Vestryman of St Tomas Episcopal Church in Alton, RI and St. Peters by the Sea Episcopal Church in Narragansett, RI.

Bill and Lillian enjoyed camping and traveling in their RV around the country.  He was an active member of the Good Sam’s Camping Club.

Besides his loving and devoted wife he will be sadly missed by his children; Linda Bernegger and her husband Rudy of Naugatuck, CT, Jessica Creamer and her husband George of Johnston, RI and Thomas Pixton of Carolina, RI.  He was the loving grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his son John Pixton and his daughter Susan Rogers.

The Pixton family will greet relatives and friends of Monday May 7, 2018 from 6-8PM at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI.  Funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 322 Church St. Alton, RI.  Burial will follow with military honors in White Brook Cemetery, Carolina, RI.
