Wendy Irene Gardiner

Wendy Irene(Peck) Gardiner, 69 of Exeter, RI passed away at South County Hospital on Saturday, April 8, 2023. Born in Warwick, RI on October 26,1953, she was the daughter of Lewis Peck and the late Irene F. (LaPointe) Lathrop and Arthur Lathrop.

Wendy was an avid country music fan whom sung in a country band in her younger years. She took much enjoyment in listening and singing to her favorite country artists’ throughout the years. She would play and sing her favorite tunes which her children will hold fond memories of her doing throughout their lives. She enjoyed horseback riding, sewing, scrapbooking, crocheting blankets, making holiday wreaths and baskets, feeding her numerous hummingbirds, and planting her flowers and vegetables that she reluctantly shared with the rabbits and chubby woodchucks that would trespass into her yard.

Tammy remembers that her mom was a strong woman whom always spoke the truth. She taught her to be independent. And many conversations and laughs while enjoying a cup of coffee together with an occasional cream horn. She tried her best to do what she could for her children. Mom wanted us to achieve more than she could in her life.

Carl remembers that his mom raised her children to do for themselves which taught a great life lesson to become independent adults and to make the best out of what you have in life. She was a tough supervisor on the construction site while doing repairs in her home. But she was always happy when the jobs were finished.

Stacey remembers that her mom had an amazing laugh and was very crafty. She loved her grandchildren. She loved collecting scarecrows and snowmen.

Wendy is survived by her children, Tammy, Carl, Stacey, and preceded in death, daughter Betty-Jo.
She was the sister of Kerry, LeAnne, Sheryl, Doreen,Lucinda, Lisa, and Lenee. She is survived by her Aunt Alice.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews; Becky, Josh, Nikkole, David, Dorese, Theresa, Michael, Brandon, Aaron, Andrew, and Stephanie.

Wendy is survived by her grandchildren; Robbie, Stephanie, Jules, Kevin, David, Reba, Tiffany, Gage, Jacey, Seth, Michael,Ashley, Amber, Isabella, and Harmony.

She is survived by her great-grandchildren; Alyvia, Kaleb, Iris, Melody, Alyssa, Amailah, Ryker, Jackson, Declan, and preceded in death, great-granddaughter, Hayley.
