Sandra L. Damon

Sandra L. (Cota) Damon, 72 of Gooseberry Hill in Charlestown, R.I., died peacefully on Wednesday, August 16, 2017, at Apple Rehab Westerly. She was the beloved wife of David E. Damon.
Born in Hanover, NH, on May 15, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Emile B. Costa and Shirley (Clapper).
Sandra was a former member and volunteer for the Charlestown Ambulance Assoc. Her greatest enjoyment was to be around family and friends. She loved spending many of her years in NH and St. Albans, VT with family and ice fishing on Lake Champlain. She enjoyed camping and blue grass festivals. She also enjoyed watching her bird feeders and loved animals. Sandra was an avid UCONN Women’s Basket Ball and Red Sox fan.
Besides her husband she will be sadly missed by her children; Maureen Campos of Wakefield, R.I., Briand Aiello of Richmond, R.I. and Tracey Aiello and Robert Damon of New Hampshire. She was the loving grandmother of John Campos, Kevin Campos, Corey Aiello and Nadine Tidwell. She also leaves her sisters; Mary E. Valakos of New London, CT, Michele Pearl of New Hampshire and her brother Marlo Cota of Colorado, and her stepmother, Madeline Cota of New Hampshire. She will also be missed by an aunt in AZ, and cousins in CT, VT, NH and OH. Sandra was predeceased by her stepfather, Spiro Valakos.
