Tribute

Ruby M. Kreyssig, 85, died peacefully on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Riverview Nursing Home in Coventry, RI. She was the beloved wife of Robert I. Kreyssig born on August 6, 1936 to Warren H. and Alice M. (Burdick) Salisbury. Ruby grew up in Hope Valley, were she met her best friend and future husband Bob. She graduated Westerly High School in 1954 then went on to attend Rhode Island Hospital School of Nursing. She married in 1956 and traveled with her husband and family to many Air Bases landing back in Hope Valley with their family in 1970.

Ruby was a devoted wife and mother. She loved to read, sew, knit, crochet, and garden. She was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Hope Valley where she belonged to the Homemakers Group and the Ladies Benevolent Society. She was the Church Librarian and the force behind many of the fundraising efforts of the church. Ruby was also a member of the Hope Valley Ambulance for many years and was one of the first women to rise to the rank of Squad Commander. She loved to have and attend parties with her family and friends – one of her last requests was to have a big party when the weather got warm. We will surely honor that request. She will forever be in our hearts.

Ruby was predeceased by her husband Bob, lasting only 17 days after he passed. We truly believe that he prepared the way for her and called her home. Ruby leaves two sisters - Judy Scholfield and Jean Thibodeau and her spouse Dennis, one half-sister Sandra Novak and her spouse Richard. Four Children and their spouses, Susan and Loren Andrews, Jeff and Bethany Kreyssig, Karin and Jeff Hutchinson, and David and Deborah Kreyssig. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kreyssig, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Andrews, Stephanie and Jason DaPonte, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hutchinson, Daniel Kreyssig, Amy Hutchinson, Sophia and Nathan Pearson, Joseph Hutchinson, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kreyssig, Kyle Kreyssig, Nathan Kreyssig, and Ryan Kreyssig, 7 Great-Grandchildren, and many, many nieces and nephews.
