Robert F. Tiernan, 69, of Old Mountain Trail, Richmond, RI passed away at home on September 13, 2018.
Born in Providence, RI on October 8, 1948, he was the husband of Patricia (Ekiert) Tiernan for 45 years. He was the son of the late Edward and Anna (Tucker) Tiernan.
Robert had retired in 2014 after working 38 years for the State of RI.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two children; Sheri A. Menard of Warwick, RI, and Robert F. Tiernan, Jr. (Hiedi) of Coventry, RI, a sister; Maureen Sylvia (Ed) of Wakefield, RI, five precious grandchildren, and wonderful nieces and nephews, friends and in-laws. He was predeceased by four brothers; Edward Tiernan, James Tiernan, Raymond Tiernan and David Tiernan.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10AM at St. Joseph’s Church, 1105 Main St., Hope Valley, RI. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Greenwich, RI. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Autism Project of Rhode Island, 1516 Atwood Ave., Johnston, RI 02919.
