Normand Arthur Leveillee, 84, of West Greenwich, RI, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 21, 2019 at his home. He was the loving husband of Annette Sylvia (Lavallee) Leveillee and together they shared 55 years of marriage. Sadly Annette predeceased him on September 24. 2018.
Born in Coventry, Rhode Island on March 8, 1935 he was the son of the late Jean B. and Jeannette (Belanger) Leveillee.
Normand graduated from LaSalle High School, Our Lady of Providence Seminary, and University of Louvain Belgium and received his Master’s Degree in Education from Rhode Island College. He went on to teach for over 40 years in North Kingstown Schools and was head of the Foreign Language Department, Assistant Principal of North Kingstown, High School, Principle of Davisville Middle School, French Teacher and Golf Coach for many years winning several state titles. After retiring he became a part-time teacher at Exeter West Greenwich Senior High, teaching multimedia and ran the TV production studio which is named after him.
Normand was active in his faith as a member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and former Golf Pro at Exeter Country Club.
Most importantly, he loved his family and he will be dearly missed by all who know him.
He leaves his children; Monique E. Hobin and her husband Thomas of West Greenwich, Peter J. Leveillee of West Greenwich; his grandchildren Alexia (Kelley) Pettit and her husband Andrew and Phillip Kelley; a sister Rita Sloan and her husband Richard of West Greenwich.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10AM at St. Kateri Tekawitha Catholic Church, 84 Exeter Rd, Exeter, RI. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery, West Greenwich, RI.
