Tribute

Mary Louise (Bosworth) Madden, 73, of West Greenwich, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021 surrounded by loved ones at Kent Hospital. She was the loving wife of Michael Robert Madden. Born in Essex, CT on October 27, 1947, she was the daughter of Ruth N. (Fordham) Bosworth and the late Robert P. Bosworth.

To her family and close friends she was known as Mary Lou or Louie. She was known for her mouth-wateringly delicious baked goods, her light-hearted sense of humor, her tenacious spirit, and fierce, yet tender, kindheartedness. Mary Lou last worked as a house keeper while living on Block Island with her husband, Mike. During their time on Block Island they made lifelong memories that they often shared when gathered with family and friends. This includes their wedding day that took place on the island on December 12, 1987. Mary Lou loved baking, sewing, gardening, and singing along to the Golden Oldies. Above all else, Mary loved spending time with her family.

Besides her husband Mike, she leaves her children James Stanley French and his wife Kathleen Nagel, Denise Hope French, Cathleen (French) Andrew and her late husband David Andrew, Loralie (Mandeville) Lemieux, Stephanie Louise (Madden) Miceli and her husband Nathan Denison Miceli, and Abigail Cathleen Madden; her grandchildren Jessica (French) Vadnais and her husband Austin Vadnais, Chelsey M. French and her fiance Joel Javon Lee, and Kristin Anne French, Tia (Repscher) Patton, and Teresa Ann Repscher; her great-grandchildren, Marshall Isaiah Lee and Carter Elijah Lee; her siblings Roberta Ruth Bosworth, and Paul Frederick Bosworth; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her name to Exeter Animal Shelter.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
