Marie V. (Main) Lilligren Hargreaves, 80, of Carolina, RI passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Saturday, October 21, 2023. Born in Ashaway, RI on March 12, 1943, daughter of the late Everett Lester and Marjorie Ella (Arnold) Main.
She was a retired Chariho Regional School District employee starting her career at Richmond Elementary, also working at Ashaway Elementary School and Hope Valley Elementary School.
To know her was to know her love of the color Purple, watching hummingbirds, playing her extensive collection of Elvis & Neil Diamond albums, and celebrations with her family.
Marie was a talented seamstress, cook and baker. Often sharing her craft with her family, friends and community.
She is survived by her children Dawn, Drew, Tim, and Brenda. Her Grandchildren Drew-Michael, Leighanna, Destiny, Heather, Ashley, Noah (Kelsi), Brandon, Aaron, Hannah, and Samantha. Her dog Iris. Her siblings Peggy (Ed), Doc, BJ, and Bonnye, and several nieces and nephews. Best family friend Willis H Mayo, Matthew (Jen) Mayo, & Jeffrey( Jen) and son Finley Mayo.
DaughterÂin-law Charlotte. Great grandson Lukas.
Marie is predeceased by her children Robert Jr., Keith and Roberta and most recently by her best friend Gayla Mayo.
