Mafalda Y. O'Donnell

   Mafalda ”Dolly” (Cavicchioli) O’Donnell passed away at the age of 103 on July 24, 2021 at the Westerly Hospital.  She was a life long resident of Charlestown before taking residence at The Elms Assisted Living in Westerly.
    She was employed as a weaver before working for The RI School Lunch Program in the Chariho District. As a life long active communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Carolina, she was a choir member, prepared meals for the parish priest, counted Sunday’s offerings for many years, and developed many lifetime friendships at her church.  All who knew her loved her. She found her bliss where she began paint lessons at Laurie’s Art Gallery and Art Learning Center and became an accomplished artist. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.
    A devoted mother, her family meant the world to her. She is survived by Jeannie Evans (Ellison), Patricia Wucik (Richard), Judy McCaughey (Bill), Colleen Richardson (Bill), Eugene O’Donnell (Lori) and brother, Louis Cavicchioli.
She had nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and ten great, great, grand children.
    The family is forever grateful to the entire staff at the Elms Retirement Residence for their continuous support, care and concern throughout her stay there. We are thankful to the Beacon Hospice team for their compassionate and loving care given to our mother in her last days.  The Westerly Hospital nurses and doctors who attended to our mother were wonderful and caring in her final days.

    Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
