Kenneth Glover, Jr. 74 of Charlestown, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at South Kingstown Nursing and Rehab. He was the loving husband of Linda (Rice) Glover and together they shared 50 years of marriage. Born in East Orange, NJ on July 27, 1945, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Adele (Carlin) Glover, Sr.
Following graduation from high school, Kenneth joined the military and served his country proudly in the US Army. After the service, he worked part time as a Charlestown Constable. He then began his long career with the US Postal Service spending 34 years there as a mail carrier and then an Acting Supervisor. While he was with the Postal Service, he also was a member of the Charlestown Ambulance Corp for 17 years. Most importantly, he loved his family and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Besides his loving wife, he leaves his children Lori (Glover) Moffat and her husband Eric of Wakefield, Jeffery Glover and his wife Nicole of Charlestown; Sarah (Glover) Athey and her husband Tim of PA and Steven Glover and his wife Amanda of PA; 8 grandchildren Zachary, Kaylee, Derek, Logan, Ayslyn, Brennan, Connor and Norah.
Funeral services will be held privately at the RI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
Memorial donations may be made in Kenneth’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association RI Chapter, 245 Waterman St. #306, Providence, RI 02906.
