Kenneth William Galyas Jr.

Kenneth William Galyas, Jr., 32, passed away suddenly on March 5, 2018 after a long struggle with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He was born on December 29, 1985.  A native of Rhode Island, Kenny attended Chariho High School and went on to join the Army. He served in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan with the 585th Army Corps of Engineers. After his honorable military service, he attended college and worked as a project manager for Division 9 in New York City.

Kenny will be remembered for helping his fellow man, regardless of the sacrifice to himself.  In his free time, Kenny loved riding motorcycles, carpentry and learning to play the guitar.  His sense of humor was legendary. Constantly by his side was his service dog, Grace. He is survived by his parents, Sandra J. Ducharme of Charlestown, and Kenneth W Galyas, Sr., of Hopkinton, grandparents Tom and Rita Galyas, and Donald and Arlene Ducharme. He will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. A Memorial Service, followed by calling hours, will be held on Saturday, March 10 from 2 - 4:00 pm at S.R. Avery Funeral home in Hope Valley, RI.
