Kathleen L. Towne-Nichols

Kathleen L. Towne-Nichols (Kathy), 77, of Pendleton Hill Road, North Stonington, CT and a longtime resident of Shannock, RI, died peacefully on Saturday September 24, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.  She was the beloved wife of the late William C. Towne and Jonathan F. Nichols.

Born in New York City on February 18, 1945 she was the daughter of the late Frederick D. Nasse and Edna L. (Ribstein) Nasse.

Kathy had a long history with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, and giving service to her community.  Her favorite things were attending county fairs, live music & dancing, her dogs, travel, jewelry, yard sales, and giving gifts to her family (especially at Christmas).  Most of all she loved spending time with family and friends.

Kathy will be sadly missed by her loving children, Darlene Towne Evans (Peter) of North Kingstown, RI; William C. Towne, Jr. (Michelle) of Kennebunk, ME; Keith Towne (Linda) of Charlestown, RI; and Tommy Price of Hopkinton, RI; her 9 grandchildren Jonathan, Sara, William, Jacob, Julia, Luke, Emelia, Nathan, and Ryan.  She also leaves her best friend and companion, Rich Maski.

Kathy is survived by her sister Susan Nasse of Altus, OK and preceded in death by her brothers John Nasse, Sr. and William Nasse.

Kathy’s family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday September 29, 2022 from 6-8 PM at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI.  Funeral service will be held on Friday at Noon in the S.R. Avery Funeral Home. 

Burial will be private in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
