Joan A. (Noelte) Wilhelm, 75 of Tripps Corner Road, Exeter, RI died peacefully on March 4, 2018. She was the beloved wife of Peter H. Wilhelm.
Born in Central Falls on June 20, 1942 she was the daughter of the late Walter and Antoinette (Bourassa) Noelte.
Joan was the Parish Secretary at St. Joseph Church in Hope Valley, RI for over 30 years before her retirement and she was the former Welfare Director of the town of Exeter, RI.
Joan was an active communicant of St. Joseph Church in Hope Valley and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society at the church. She also was a member of the Daughters of Isabella, the South County Community Action, and the RI State Democratic Committee for many years.
Besides her loving and devoted husband she will be sadly missed by her two children; Frank P. Wilhelm of Somerset, MA and April Regine of North Stonington, CT. She was the loving grandmother of Samantha Regine and Amanda Regine. She also leaves her sister; Joyce Emery of FL. She was the sister of the late Carl and Walter Noetle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Church, 1105 Main St. Hope Valley, RI. Burial will follow in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI. Calling hours are Friday, March 9, 2018 from 4-8 PM at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI.
