Jerome R. Nokell

Jerome R. “Jerry” Nokell, 79, of Richmond, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2021, at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Chicago, Illinois, on February 27, 1942, he was the son of the late Peter P. and Valeria E. (Kazowski) Nokell.

Jerry lived with his sister, Alice, and was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Hope Valley. He attended the Frank Olean Center and later the Adult Day Center of Westerly. Jerry enjoyed playing bingo, going out to eat, shopping, reading the newspaper, and taking afternoon naps.

Jerry is predeceased by two siblings, Richard and Julia Nokell. He is survived by his younger sister, Alice Bolognese. He is also survived by one niece, Renee Bolognese of Westerly, and three nephews, Anthony (Jennifer) Bolognese of Florida; David (Kimberly) Bolognese of Florida; and Jeffrey (Bree) Bolognese of California. Jerry also leaves behind 14 great-nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, June 14, from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Tuesday, June 15, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1105 Main St., Hope Valley, RI. All are invited to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich.
