James Thomas Jervis

James T. Jervis of Hope Valley, RI passed away Monday, January 4, 2021 in Providence, RI. He was the husband of Shirley A. Jervis for over 59 years. Born in West Warwick, RI the son of the late Ralph Jervis, Sr. and Helen (Calfa) Jervis.

James served in the US Army from 1960-1966. James worked most of his life until retirement in the local textile mills including Charbert’s. He and Shirley spent the last 20 years splitting their time between Fort Myers, Florida and Hope Valley, RI. They enjoyed many years traveling with friends, treasure hunting at yard sales and visiting with their children and many grandchildren. He will be remembered for his unique sense of humor.

He is survived by his children: Thomas (Concetta) Jervis of Westerly, RI, Denise (Michael) Kugler of Hope Valley, RI, Lisa (Timothy) Smith of Rome, GA and Laura (Joe) McSweeney of Las Vegas, NV. He has 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will take place later this year.
