Helen E. Perreault has passed to the hands of God peacefully in her sleep at the Royal Nursing Facility in Westerly, RI, in the presence of family members, on December 22, 2021.
Born Helen E. Salisbury on November 15, 1929 to Phebe Enos Salisbury, she was a graduate of Westerly High School as a member of the class of 1947, with aspirations of attending the RI School of Design.
After working a couple of years at Moore’s in Westerly, she then married her husband, the late Roland E. Perreault, Sr. on June 25, 1949. She was a devoted mother to her 3 surviving children: Beverly Perreault Kenney (Gregory Kenney) of Rockville, RI, Donna J. Perreault of Narragansett, RI & Roland E. Perreault, Jr. (Dawn Perreault) of Hopkinton, RI., as well as her grandchildren Todd, Scott, Kamrin, Christopher, Andrew, Alianna, Mariah, & Izzy, and her only great-grandchildren Addie, Lyla, and Rydan.
Helen lived on Switch Rd. since 1949 and was an essential part of her family farm for over 50 years, and was a member of the RI Farm Bureau for most of those years.
Helen was a communicant at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hope Valley, RI, where she was a very active of the Rosary and Alter Society. She was known for her hard work and frank opinions and her smile was always contagious! She served her community by being a Girl Scout leader in Richmond, a member of Women’s Business Organizations in Naparee and Chariho, and from time to time a volunteer at Westerly Hospital.
She is also survived by a brother, George Salisbury of Florida and a sister, Frances Stanton of Charlestown, RI, as well as loads of nieces and nephews galore! Also survived by her devoted son-in-law Greg Kenney, whom she trusted to manage her health and financial needs over the last 15 years of her life.
Visiting hours are Wednesday, December 29th from 4-7pm at S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI.
A mass will be held on Thursday, December 30th at 10am at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hope Valley, followed by a burial at White Brook Cemetery on Pine Hill Rd, Richmond.
