Going to miss you so much Guy Waterman. Sorry that I didn't have time to see you or spend time with you before you passed. I wished that I did go and seen you more then I did even though most times you would leave your house to go out and do something everyday. It's been years sorry I wasn't around at the end my friend. I will love and miss you so much. I will be thinking of you.

Who was Guy Waterman?

Billy Jo introduced us about 16 years ago on black plain road he was sitting in his monte carlo
And welcomed me with a dimpled smile
Since that day we became the best of friends
Guy was a person to look up to and could always count on when your down and needed a REAL friend to talk to at any time
Guy had such an optimistic approach most of the time granted his circumstances, as we all know this made him above and beyond one AMAZING PERSON
someone I was inspired by and loved he was a big part of my life and me his
He would get me out of jams too, it did go both ways and that was something I am sure that also made him feel good and on top of the world because in his mind not being able to walk was nothing and never stopped him from ANYTHING because of his outstanding control of mind over matter in all cases
who knew that a man with limited capabilities could be someone who was ALWAYS there as opposed to someone with no physical limitations
I never heard him say “I can't do it” NEVER in 16 years
A true lionheart
he was always ready to take life by the reigns and go with it full throttle
Many times, with barely no limits and dangerously too much trust, would allow himself to be taken
even by strangers though flights of stairs, carried over ice and snow into homes and piggy back through the everglades or the African jungle if they would offer he would jump aboard without hesitation,
There can be no doubt that he would take us through even wilder adventures
Any escapade I would take, most others would have a lame excuse
but not Guy he was going it didn't matter what:
on the boat through rapids operating a chainsaw, strange cities, nightclubs and parties,
on the beach at night dragging him on a plastic sandbox lid, in Providence in the college classroom he’s bench pressing as my professor walks in, uncharted terrain in the woods on the fourwheelers
You name it, we did it….“ if your up to it so am I” he would say
Guy was a person that would do anything and never give up and
most of all not want anyone else to give up on him
or not welcome him along because he was in a wheelchair
and those of us who did these adventures with him also played a huge part in his strengths to be the man he was
we strongly contributed to the momentum of his will power, bravery and optimism
While a stranger may look at him as physically limited but those of us who knew him knew he was beyond this and really could do anything
with such determination and power in his mind and soul to live like he was never paraplegic and for us to perceive him this way is more than words can describe for us and especially him
To say the least I am sure we all think of him as a miracle or better yet, superman
Sometimes a struggle but always strong and courageous this man lived WAY more than those with legs and still stayed a person with no boundaries full of love and always ready for the next expedition in life
I will miss you Guy, not a day will pass without you in my thoughts and you will always be in my heart

Love always,

Jen
