Donna L. Ferraro

Donna L. (Fleck) Ferraro, 59, of Charlestown, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at RI Hospital. She was the loving wife of John F. Ferraro, Jr. Born in Westerly, RI on September 11, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Francis E., Sr. and Esther I. (Dawley) Fleck.

Donna began her career at Charberts Mills in Alton where she worked for 28 years. While there she reconnected with a childhood friend who soon became the love of her life, her husband John. She then went out to work for Ocean State Transit where she was currently working as a bus aide. When she wasn’t working, she loved to crochet, play canasta, care for her birds and work out in her garden especially growing delicious tomatoes. Most importantly, family was first in her life. She was the glue that kept the family together and was there to always help anyone in need. She was a beautiful person on the inside and out and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Besides her husband John, she leaves her children Amanda Jean Hathcock and her husband Matthew of Tulsa, OK and Jonathan Ferraro; her siblings Francis E. Fleck, Jr. and his wife Alison of Westerly, Michael Fleck and his wife Lorraine of Apollo Beach, FL and Karrie Piper and her husband John of Richmond along with several nieces and nephews and her dear companion Luna the cat. She was predeceased by her brother Noel Fleck, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. in Hope Valley. Burial will follow at Wood River Cemetery, Richmond. Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 8 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
