Born in New Haven, CT on July 21, 1941, to the late Donald L. Clark and Ann (Haurlak) Clark, he grew up in the Mount Carmel area of Hamden and in Orange, where he graduated from Amity High School. During his youth, Don built boats with his father and learned to become a master craftsman from him. Throughout his life, he designed and created some amazing things in his spare time.

Majoring in Electrical Engineering, he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1963 from Norwich University in Northfield, Vermont. At Norwich he was a member of the chorus and the Regimental band which is the oldest in the nation.

His career in engineering included U.S. Motors, Davis-Standard and others – leading to Eaton Corporation (Cutler Hammer), where he retired in 2003. During his tenure at Eaton Corporation, he enjoyed many great travels including trips to Germany, Spain, and Hawaii.

Don was active in community organizations such as the Madison Jaycees, played on a local softball league, and was passionate about coaching Little League and Farm League baseball. He enjoyed all things summer especially boating, and fourth of July fireworks.

Music played a big part in his life and brought him joy. He not only loved playing music, but enjoyed attending performances including choirs, school bands, orchestras, and symphonies.
