Derrick Alan Payne Sr.

Derrick Alan Payne, Sr. 48 of Ashaway, RI passed away unexpectedly on Friday August 16, 2019.

He is survived by his wife Sheila Payne of 27 years, and his children Derrick Alan Payne, Jr. "DJ" and Colin Joseph Payne.

Born in Warwick, RI, July 18, 1971, he was the son of Alan Eugene Payne and Virginia Lee Payne.

He also was survived by his brother Stephen A. Payne and his wife Helen Payne.

He was loved by all his nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed.

Derrick was employed at the Hopkinton Public Works Department for 15 years as an equipment operator.

He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, listening to his tunes, and he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Derrick’s memorial service will be held at S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. in Hope Valley, RI on Saturday, August 24, 2019 with calling hours begining at 11:00am and ending with a eulogy at 2:00pm, followed by a reception at Bradford Citizens Club 124 Woody Hill Road Bradford, RI.
