Dennis L. Wright, 73 of Victory Highway, Exeter, R.I., died peacefully at Kent County Hospital, on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
Born in Westerly, R.I., on December 30, 1943, he was the son of the late Lloyd B. Wright and Phyllis (Hopkins) Wright.
Dennis had worked for several manufacturing companies before retiring. He also served in the United States Marine Corp during the Vietnam War.
He leaves his brothers and sisters; Gordon Wright and his wife Lynda, Jeffrey Wright and his wife Bonnie, Diane Herman and her husband Calvin, Marcia Carsten, Stacey Wright-Minakin and her husband Clifford, Carlton Wright and his wife Elizabeth, Stephen Smith and Sharon Smith-Wheeler. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Birkbeck and his step-mother Winifred "Winnie" Wright.
A committal service will be held on Friday, August 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, 31 South County Trail, Exeter, R.I. Family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m., at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St., for procession to Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, Main St., Hope Valley, R.I.
