Dennis G. Place Sr., 72, of Wood River Jct. died peacefully on Wednesday October 26, 2022 at the Westerly Hospital. He was the beloved partner of Denyse B. Battaglia.
Born in Providence, RI on March 22, 1950 he was the son of the late Frank and Ellen (Sullivan) Place.
Mr. Place was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the Narragansett Bay Commission for over 40 years before retiring. He also worked for United Way and was an avid outdoorsman and fisherman.
Besides his partner he will be missed by his children; Dennis G. Place Jr. (Raffaella) of Lincoln, RI, Jason C. Place of Attleboro, MA, Tiffany L. Place of West Greenwich, RI. He was the brother of Frank Place Jr. of Warwick, RI, Richard Place of Richmond, RI, Lillian Richardson and Colleen Hutchinson both of Warwick, RI. He also leaves 7 grandchildren.
The Place family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 12-2 at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank, St. With a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
Burial will be private.
