Dennis Wayne Denton

Dennis W. Denton, 69, of Red Oak Dr. Richmond, RI passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, July 1, 2022. He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Cathy R. (Burdick) Denton. Born in Warwick, RI on August 9, 1952, he was the son of the late Richard D. and Cecelia L. (Parenty) Denton.

Dennis had been employed at Star City Glass, Coventry, RI and was a grinder at Electric Boat, Groton, CT. His interests and hobbies were going to the shooting range, playing poker with his family and loved watching his favorite TV shows and movies.

Besides his wife Cathy, he leaves two daughters, Christal M. Marchetti (James) of Hopkinton, RI, Stacey J. Sherman (Frederick) of Richmond, RI; his grandchildren Jasmine Skalin, Noah, Stephanie, Matthew Sherman, Jamie, Jonathan and Jimmy Marchetti; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves a brother Richard Denton, Jr. of Florida; sisters Debra Rankin of Idaho and Katherine Allen of RI. He was predeceased by a sister Carol Lopes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dennis’s name to Jonnycake Center, 23 Industrial Dr. Westerly, RI 02891.

Per his wishes, calling hours and funeral services are respectfully omitted. S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St., Hope Valley, RI 02832 is assisting the family with arrangements.
