Delma Maxine (Lewis) Rathbun of Hope Valley died Friday February 10th, 2023, at the Westerly R.I. Clipper Nursing Home.
Born on October 19, 1928 in Jacksonville, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Emerson C. and Jessie Mae (Williams) Lewis. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Charles Lester Rathbun on October 19, 1946, in Hope Valley.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her two sons, Clarence Edgar Rathbun and his wife Rhonda of Wabash, Indiana, and Allan Lester Rathbun and his wife Marianne of Dover, Delaware, and her daughter Karen Louise Brown and her husband Guy W. Brown of Norwich. Delmas was also blessed with nine grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Clarence Lewis and his wife Louise, William Lewis and his wife Shirley, Gerald Lewis, and a sister Ruth Elizabeth Lewis.
Delma was a graduate of Newton Bateman Memorial High School in Jacksonville, Illinois, class of 1946.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hope Valley for over 65 years and also served as the choir director for many years.
Mom * Nana * Aunt Del * was a remarkable woman. She was a wonderful combination of unconditional, unlimited, and faith-filled love and wisdom. She imparted these qualities to her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family, and friends. She was a huge part in making all of the lives she touched who they are today. She gave lessons, laughter, love, and advice to all and we will dearly miss her.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 18th at 11am at The First Baptist Church, 1059 Main St, Hope Valley. Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
