David L. Wightman, 82 of Fairview Ave. Hope Valley, RI died suddenly on Saturday, February 9, 2019. He was the beloved husband of Beverly (Rudgers) Wightman.
Born in Exeter, RI on October 23, 1936 he was the son of the late George E. and Harriett (Crandall) Wightman.
Mr. Wightman had been a local carpenter for many years and retired from the Model Shop at Electric Boat in Groton, CT. He was a life member of the Hope Valley Wyoming Volunteer Fire Department and also was a member of Hope Valley Ambulance Association.
David enjoyed working around his home and his yard and spending time with his sons and his grandchildren.
Besides his loving and devoted wife of 59 years he will be sadly missed by his three sons; Ernest R. Wightman his wife, Dana (Hemke) , Gregory Wightman and Mark Wightman, his wife Yvette (Baton) all of Hope Valley, RI. He was the loving grandfather of six and great grandfather of four. He was predeceased by his two brothers; George E. Wightman Jr. and William Wightman.
Funeral service and burial will be private and calling hours are respectfully omitted.
