David A. Plante

David Plante, 74, of Charlestown, RI died on August 27, 2023. He was born and raised in Salem MA by his parents Andre Plante and Jeanne Julien. He was a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology. He married Theresa Chouinard in 1971 and together they had three children. They were high school sweethearts who were still married after fifty-two years. It was Theresa who took care of him at their home, and she was by his side when he passed away.

David was a die hard Democrat who loved the Boston Red Sox, going to the movies with his son Mark Plante, politics, watching football with his son Matthew Plante, Seinfeld, a Friday night out with Theresa where he would order a Manhattan with extra vermouth, almost any dessert, and being at a field hockey game watching his daughter Lisa Plante. He valued his friendship with Dennis Webb, who he met while they worked together at Providence Gas. He is predeceased by his older brother Paul Plante; who he felt very close to in his final days. Theresa often found David talking to Paul in the final weeks leading up to his death. He is survived by his wife, three children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, two granddaughters, two step-grandsons and the only dog he ever loved, Coco.

Family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI from 12-2pm.

A services will start at 2pm.

Burial will be held privately by the family.
