Cynthia A. (Hodgman) Ready passed away unexpectedly at the age of 71 on November 10th, 2023 due to complications in surgery.
Born on May 5th, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. Hodgman, Barbara E. Pendleton, and her step-father Chauncey B. Pendleton.
Cindy was a kind and generous woman full of spunk. She was a lover of nature and animals, befriending any animal that crossed her path. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking sweets for her grandchildren and tending to her flower gardens. Most of all, she enjoyed being surrounded by her loved ones and sharing old family photos and stories.
She’s survived by her uncle Philip LaPorte of Westerly, younger sister Wanda Gardiner of Ashaway, and brother Todd Pendleton of Westerly.
Her legacy lives on through her two sons, Richard C. Ready Sr. of Westerly and Joseph E. Ready of Charlestown; her four grandchildren: Katelyn, Richard Jr., Jayla, and James Ready; her six nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews, one great-great niece, and her feline fur baby Smokey.
Cindy was beloved by everyone who knew her and will be so deeply missed. May she rest in peace and be reunited with her past relatives and animal friends that have passed on before her.
Public visiting hours will be held at SR Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank Street, Hope Valley on Saturday, November 25th, 2023 from 1pm - 3pm. Burial will be held at a later date. Donations may be sent to the Westerly Animal Shelter in Cindy’s memory. For online condolence go to www.averyfuneralhome.com
