Charles Boardman Duksta, Sr.

June 7, 1941 ~ November 2, 2023 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Tribute

We are sad to announce the passing of our father, Charles B Duksta, on Nov 2, 2023.
Raised in Quonochontaug, RI by John Charles and Helen Boardman Duksta, "Charlie" later settled into the Richmond/Hope Valley townships where he first opened "Country Hardware" where Wyoming Hardware now exists and later rehabbed and opened the then defunct property at 320 Kingstown Road which he named "The Richmond Antique Center".

Since 2017, Charlie has been under the care of the good people at the South County Nursing and Rehab Center after suffering a stroke. There he served as greeter, gardener and took on the moniker of "mayor".  Through his last years he showed his characteristic optimism and a strength that will always remain a guiding light and lesson to his sons. Our father loved, was loved, and will be missed eternally by his extended family, friends and sons, Charles B. Duksta, Jr and Thomas J. Duksta.

A celebration of life gathering is being planned at the Hope Valley Grange Hall at 1116 Main St. on Sunday November 26th from 2-5 pm.
