Arthur Joseph Bergeron, 87, of Richmond, RI and formerly of Pawtucket, RI, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on July 21, 2022. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary F. (Marchi) Bergeron.
Born in Attleboro, MA on June 26, 1935 he was the son of the late Antonio and Bernadette (Martel) Bergeron.
Mr. Bergeron served his country proudly in the United States Army. He later attended Providence College and was a Computer Programmer for Kidde- Fenwal in Ashland, MA., before retiring.
Arthur was lifelong resident of Pawtucket, RI before moving to live with his daughter in Richmond, RI 9 years ago. He was one of the founding members of the Pawtucket Slaterettes Girls and Women’s Baseball League.
He will be sadly missed by his two children, Michele Gauthier (Kenneth) of Richmond, RI and Andrea B. Gagne (Robert) of Texas. He was the loving grandfather of 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his 3 brothers and one sister.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday July 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1105 Main St., Hope Valley, RI. Burial will follow with full military honors in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter, RI.
The Bergeron family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday from 4-6 PM at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3 A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI.
