Philip H. LaPorte, 82 of Sunrise Drive, Westerly, RI died peacefully on Friday February 3, 2024.
Born in Westerly, RI on May 6, 1941 he was the son of the late Henry LaPorte and Meta (Baton) LaPorte.
Mr. LaPorte served proudly in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War and retired from the US Navy after 20 years of dedicated service. He later worked at the former Paragon in Westerly, RI before retiring.
Phil was an avid coin collector and loved trains and model trains and anything to do with the railroad. He also enjoyed his home and spending time with his family, friends and his beloved dog.
Phil will be sadly missed by his niece, Wanda L. Gardiner of Hopkinton, RI and his nephew, Todd Pendleton of Westerly, RI. He also leaves several great grand nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Pendleton, his brother Benjamin LaPorte and his niece Cindy Ready.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday February 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery, Fairview Ave. Hope Valley, RI. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
