Lester D. Wilcox

Lester D. Wilcox, 87 of Hope Valley, R.I., died peacefully on Monday December 4, 2017, at the Westerly Health Center. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Wood) Wilcox.
Born in Westerly, R.I., on June 13, 1930, he was the son of the late Maurice and Lois (Card) Wilcox.
Lester served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.
Lester was a machinist for the former Harris Graphics Company for many years before retiring. He loved listening to and going to hear country music and was an avid television watcher.
Besides his loving and devoted wife of over 62 years he will be sadly missed by his children; Charles A. Wilcox (Cathy) of Rockville, R.I., Carolyn "CJ" Doyle (Louis) of Hope Valley, R.I., David Wilcox of Colchester, CT and Ann M. Thayer (Tim) of Richmond, R.I. He was the brother of Ellen James of Minnesota. He was the loving grandfather of 5 and great grandfather of 2. He was predeceased by his two brothers; Edgar Wilcox and James Wilcox.
A graveside service will be held on Friday December 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at the Wood River Cemetery, 85 Nooseneck Hill Road, Richmond, R.I. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
