John A. Dyson, 93, of Charlestown, died peacefully on July 10, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Lois (Shader) Dyson whom he married on July 2, 1948. Born in Charlestown on June 20, 1924, he was the youngest son of the late Charles P. and Addie (Mercier) Dyson. He is also survived by his much loved dog Buttons.
He was a well-respected self-employed builder of many homes in the Charlestown area. He served on several town committees as well as the Charlestown Republican Town Committee. He was an avid gardener and he and Lois took annual trips to Maine and New Hampshire as well as other areas of the U.S. for many years.
John was a World War II Navy veteran serving in the Pacific Theater for three years.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 12, at 2:00 pm in the White Brook Cemetery, Pine Hill Road, Richmond. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.
