Janice R. Nimmo, 79 of Glen Rock, Road South Kingstown, RI died peacefully on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert W. Nimmo.
Born in Westerly, RI on March 18, 1938 she was the daughter of the late Everett L. and Florence (Tonge) Greene.
Janice worked for many years at the Ladd School as a dietary supervisor until the school closed. She then moved on to work in a Special Care Facility within the state’s group home community. Janice enjoyed working in a community outreach program called “Seniors Helping Others”. She also sold Avon and was a Den Mother and Brownie Leader when her children were growing up.
She will be sadly missed by her children; Linda L. Bealer and her husband Joseph Capobianco of Warwick, RI and Robert W. Nimmo and his wife Joanne of Richmond, RI. She was the loving grandmother of Violet Hope McMican and Stacy Ellen Shahrani. She also leaves her brother, Austin Ray “Sonny” Tonge of Portland, OR. She was predeacesed by her two sisters; Maureen Smith and Andy DeChristopher.
A Celebration of Janice’s life will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI. Calling hours are respectfully omitted. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery. For online condolences, please visit www.averyfuneralhome.com .
