Gilda B. Zampini

Hope Valley – Gilda B. Zampini, a long-time resident of Hope Valley, RI passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at the Westerly Health Center. Born in 1933 in Providence, RI, Gilda attended Mount Pleasant High School and went on to graduate from Johnson and Wales. She had a successful business career when she met the love of her life, Michael F. (Sonny) Zampini. She married him and moved to Hope Valley, RI where she resided until her passing. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. She had a smile that could light up a room and would always welcome people into her home.
She was the wife of the late Michael F. Zampini of Hope Valley, RI; daughter of the late Vito A. Pezzillo and Catherine (Trofia) Pezzillo of Providence, RI. Sister of the late Anna M. Iacobbo, Angelina Leonardo, Vincent, Anthony, Vito and Michael Pezzillo. She is survived by her brother John Pezzillo of Cranston, RI and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Visiting Hours at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home at 3A Bank Street, Hope Valley, RI on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 4pm to 7pm. A Funeral Service at St. Joseph’s Church 1105 Main Street, Hope Valley, RI will be on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Greenwich, RI.
