Edward Robert Corrigan Jr. 72 of Kreyssig Drive of Hope Valley, RI died peacefully on Saturday February 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving wife. He was the beloved husband of Gloria A. (Mancini) Corrigan.
Born in Pawtucket, RI on November 13, 1944 he was the son of the late Edward R. and Rita (Langlois) Corrigan.
Bob received his BA degree from Roger Williams University and his Masters from Providence College. He went on to teach in the Providence School Department and retired after 32 years as the Principal of the Mary E. Fogarty Elementary School.
Mr. Corrigan served on the Hopkinton Town Council from 1988-1992 was President of the Town Council from 1990-1992. He was a Chairperson for both the Rhode Island Democratic and the Hopkinton Democratic Associations for many years.
Besides his devoted and loving wife of 38 years he leaves his brother, Ronald Corrigan of the Villages in FL and 3 nieces and 2 nephews. He was predeceased by his sister; Ruth Corrigan.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday March 2, 2017 at11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church, 1105 Main St. Hope Valley, RI. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Hope Valley, RI. Calling hours Wednesday from 4-7 at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI.
