Alex F. Minteer, 29 of Richmond Townhouse Road, Carolina, RI died unexpectedly on Saturday May 13, 2017 at his home.
Born in Providence, RI on January 31, 1988 he was the beloved son of Eric D. and Barbara (Gelineau) Minteer.
Alex graduated from Chariho High School with the Class of 2006 and Rhode Island College with a Bachelors of Arts in Music in 2017.
He had a lifelong passion for music and was an accomplished musician. In the most joyous part of his life, he played alto saxophone in several bands including the Chariho High School Jazz Band, the Rhode Island College Jazz Band, and the Rhode Island College Wind Ensemble.
Alex is survived by his parents Barbara and Eric, sister Molly Minteer of Richmond, RI, sister Shayla (Minteer) Durfey, brother in-law Michael Durfey, and nephew Gabriel Durfey of Middletown, RI. He also leaves behind paternal grandparents Patricia and Robert Kelly of Canonsburg, PA, maternal grandparents Renate Gelineau of Barre, VT and Robert and Marie Gelineau of Springfield, VT along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Alex brought music to all of our lives and we will forever carry his beat in our hearts.
The Minteer family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, May 20, 2017 from 12-3 PM at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI.
